Visiting AccessAbilities Expo? Come and pause with me at Stand 4218

18 October 2026

Short summary: AccessAbilities Expo 2026 opens tomorrow at Dubai World Trade Centre. Here is where to find me, and why my stand is the quietest place in the hall.

By Dr Sherley Louis

Tomorrow, Monday 19 October, the 8th edition of AccessAbilities Expo opens at Dubai World Trade Centre and runs until Wednesday 21 October.

It is one of the most important gatherings in our region for people of determination, their families and the professionals who support them. I am honoured to take part in two ways.

Monday, 10:30 am: opening the Industry Leadership Hub

I will open the Industry Leadership Hub with my session “Beyond the Sensory Room: Designing Environments Where People of Determination Can Stay”.

I will share why calm has to be built into everyday spaces, and how schools, clinics, workplaces and public venues can start this week, from no-cost changes to budgeted solutions.

All three days: Stand 4218, Za’abeel Hall 4

Exhibition halls are bright and loud. That is exactly why my stand is designed as a calm space.

You are welcome to come in, sit down and slow down for a few minutes.

  • Please touch: sensory tools you can hold, hear and explore.
  • Pause here: a quiet corner and a breathing wave to trace with your finger.
  • Eight sense cards, each with a practical strategy you can use straight away.
  • Time to talk about your own setting, whether it is a school, a clinic, a workplace or your home.

Take the calm home with you

Every card on the stand has a QR code. Scan it, leave your details and download my free guide, Sensory Strategies: 8 senses, practical solutions.

It covers sight, sound, touch, smell, taste, movement, body awareness and the inner body, with what costs nothing, what costs little and what needs budget.

If you would like a plan for your whole setting, ask me about a Sensory Walk-Through: one visit, and a written plan room by room, so work can begin next week, not next year.

I look forward to welcoming you.
